Project Process and Timeline

The following diagram outlines the process to complete the Community Vision and Strategic Plan.

Phase 1:

Phase 1 of the project involved sharing information about the Community Vision and Strategy initiative and its process with the community, as well as gathering initial input from residents regarding their values, concerns, vision, and community goals.

Phase 2:

Phase 2 of the project will focus on collaborating with the community to refine its values, vision, and goals. This will then be used to identify actions that will better support the community moving forward.

Phase 3:

Phase 3 is the final stage of the project. During this phase, residents will work to refine both the draft and final versions of the Vision and Strategic Plan. The Plan will then be submitted to the TRA to guide future funding, partnerships, and other initiatives. Additionally, the Plan will be shared with—and may involve further collaboration with—the Cariboo Regional District, provincial agencies (such as the Interior Health Authority and School District, etc.), and neighbouring First Nation governments.

Who is EcoPlan?

We have hired a company called EcoPlan International Inc. as external community planners to help us. These planners are neutral in this process and bring valuable experience and ideas from other communities across the province. However, they are not experts on our community— we are!

What will they do?

They have been brought in as staff, team members and to work for all of us. They will help to spread the word, connect us, put together surveys and events, collect and process information, and organize it in a way that best supports our community goals.

Community members are encouraged to share their ideas and feedback directly with the planners at upcoming events or through surveys to make sure everyone’s voice can be heard and considered throughout the process.
